The Vuture Development Centre - Chennai, India
One product. One team. Built in Chennai.
Agasys established and runs the Vuture Development Centre in India. Our engineers work full-time on Vuture, a SaaS marketing platform that sends millions of emails a day on behalf of international law firms. We ship to the same release train as colleagues in London and New York.
Agasys has partnered with Vuture Group Ltd in the United Kingdom to establish and run the Vuture Development Centre in India.
01 - The company
The whole company is one development centre.
Agasys established the Vuture Development Centre in India. Running it is the entirety of our business.
We were founded in 2014 and partnered with Vuture Group Ltd in the United Kingdom to build a permanent engineering team in India. Vuture is part of Marigold, a global customer-engagement group whose software is used by brands and professional-services firms worldwide.
The Chennai team works on that platform and nothing else, using the same codebase, the same board, and the same release process as Vuture's engineers in the United Kingdom. A single product is the only way a team comes to know a system properly.
So our engineers stay with one platform for years, and grow into the people the wider product team brings its difficult questions to. Depth is the whole proposition, for the client and for the people we hire.
Vuture serves law firms and professional-services organisations worldwide. The platform sends millions of emails every day to recipients in dozens of countries, and every one of them has to arrive, render correctly, and be counted accurately. At that volume a small mistake becomes a large one quickly, which is why deliverability, data accuracy, and uptime are contractual here rather than aspirational.
It is detailed work, and it rewards people who like knowing exactly why something broke.
02 - The working day
Your day runs alongside London's, not after it.
Working hours by city, shown on a London clock. Chennai works 11:00 to 20:00 India time, which is 06:30 to 15:30 in London. London works 09:00 to 17:30, and New York works 09:00 to 17:30 Eastern time. The Chennai day overlaps London by six and a half hours and New York by an hour and a half.
03 - The work
What the centre is accountable for.
The team owns each of these end to end, from the problem arriving to the fix shipping and the explanation going back out. All of it runs at a scale where errors surface fast. Join us, and one of them becomes yours.
Platform engineering
Feature work across a large commercial .NET estate: C#, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Framework, .NET Core and SQL Server. A multi-tenant SaaS product with real history behind it, where a change ships to every firm at once.
Root-cause investigation
Production problems that nobody has diagnosed yet: query blocking, integration failures, data that does not reconcile. You work them to a cause, not a workaround.
Email deliverability
SPF, DKIM, and DMARC alignment; bounce, tracking, and rendering diagnostics. Niche, genuinely difficult, and a specialism very few engineers get to build properly.
Engagement and traffic quality
Telling real recipient behaviour apart from security-gateway scanning and datacentre bots. Forensic work on user agents, IP ranges and timing signatures.
Test automation
Playwright and TypeScript suites that gate every release candidate, owned as part of the product rather than bolted on beside it.
Data and reporting
Warehouse feeds, campaign analytics, and query performance on the platform's highest-volume tables.
04 - Technology
What the platform is built on.
The product has been in production for years, so the estate runs from current frameworks through to older surfaces still in daily use.

05 - How we work
The parts that decide whether a job is any good.
Every company says it values quality. These are the specific arrangements that make it true here.
You are on Vuture's board, not behind it
Work comes from the product's own backlog and sprints. You join the ceremonies, you speak in them, and your name is on the ticket.
Code review is real
Every change is reviewed, regression-tested, and signed off through the platform's process. Nothing ships because someone was in a hurry.
Ownership, not assignment
Engineers here own areas rather than tickets. Within a year you should be the person the wider team asks about something specific.
Predictable hours
An afternoon-to-evening shift that overlaps the UK day, so the overlap does the work instead of a permanent on-call culture. Late nights are the exception, not the model.
Permanent home working, if you prefer it
The Chennai office is there if you want it, and working from home for good is a standing option if you do not. The overlap hours matter; where you sit does not.
A small team, hired slowly and kept
We staff for engineers who will still be on the product in three years, which is why the interview is thorough and the onboarding is not rushed.
06 - Growing here
What the first three years look like.
Depth compounds. The engineers who have been here longest are not doing the same job at a higher grade. They are doing a different job entirely.
First 90 days
Learn the system, ship small
Paired onto a senior engineer, working real tickets from week one. The goal is not speed. It is understanding how the platform's data model actually hangs together.
Year one
Own an area
You take a surface of the product as yours: its defects, its tests, its performance, and the client-facing explanation when something goes wrong on it.
Beyond
Set the standard
Reviewing others' work, interviewing candidates, and shaping how the team builds, including with the UK engineers who rely on your judgement.
07 - Open roles
Come and own something.
Every role is full-time on the product. Work from our Chennai office, from home permanently, or any mix of the two.
